The project is also meant to counterbalance the stern design of the buildings.
The garden was to answer the following requirements:
• it should be generous and simple, in harmony with the buildings but with its own identity,
• it should structure and link the different functions around the garden,
• it should offer a landscape and views developing ruptures of scale,
• it should allow different visual games and disrupt the perspective created by the neighbouring building,
• it should be host to a wide diversity of flora and be easy to tender.
